KARACHI: Phones go dead in Shadman

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, May 10: Hundreds of phones went out of order here in North Karachi on Wednesday after underground telephone cables were cut off during digging by the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board.

The cables from the distribution box of the Pakistan Telecommunication Company in Shadman Town were severed at around 5:30pm. Information about the damage of the cables was passed on to the authorities in the PTCL, who reached the spot to examine the cables.

The media coordinator of the PTCL Karachi confirmed the damage to the cables and said repair work had been started and the cables would be repaired by Thursday evening.
