KARACHI, April 13: The Sindh Governor, Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan, has said that meaningful and result-oriented steps would be taken with the cooperation of ulema and people to unearth the elements involved in the Nishtar Park tragedy, and efforts in this regard were being made round the clock.

He was talking while meeting with Allama Shah Turabul Huq Qadri, Amir Jamaat Ahle Sunnat, during a visit to Jamia Amjadia late Wednesday night.

The governor was accompanied by Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Ijazul Huq, State Minister Dr Aamir Liaquat, Provincial Ministers Rauf Siddiqi, Adil Siddiqi, Secretary Interior Syed Kamal Shah, IG Police Jehangir Mirza and other officials.

The governor offered fateha for the martyrs of Nishtar Park tragedy and early recovery of the injured.

Pointing out that the entire nation was grieved over the tragedy, the governor said they had very close relations with the martyred ulema and were personal grieved over their deaths.

He assured that whatever the reservations, problems and grievances of ulema, all-out cooperation would be extended to address the same.

Ibad said there was best interaction with ulema and it would continue in future also.

“We are taking notice of issues that are being brought to our knowledge by them and will continue to make progress in this respect.”

He described the Nishtar Park bombing an incident against Pakistan and Islam.

He appealed to ulema to ask their workers’ cooperation in identifying the elements involved in this tragedy because those who were present at that time were the most important witnesses.

The governor acknowledged exhibition of Ittehad Bain-ul-Muslimeen by ulema after the blast.

“We fully share the grief of the leaders and workers of Jamaat Ahle Sunnat, Sunni Tehreek, Tehreek Awam Ahle Sunnat, Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan and Anjuman Talaba-i-Islam, and offer our heartfelt condolences.”

He announced that collective efforts would be further boosted to promote the mission of Ittehad Bain-ul-Muslimeen.—APP
