KARACHI: IG orders strict steps to ensure sectarian peace


KARACHI, April 6: Sindh IGP Jehangir Mirza has directed the police department for taking extraordinary security steps for maintaining peace on April 8 on the occasion of Chup Taazia (silent procession) and on Eid Miladu-Nabi falling on April 11 (12th Rabiul Awal).

Examining the contingency plan with regard to security steps on Thursday, he said that the incident of bomb blast at Abul Hasan Ispahani Road required ensuring advance intelligence for taking action against miscreants.

Issuing directives to CCPO Karachi and Regional Police Officers of Sukkur and Hyderabad, the IGP said that advance sweeping steps through bomb disposal squads were ensured on the routes of Chup Tazia and Eid Milad—PPI
