KARACHI: JSQM men start 10-day hunger strike

KARACHI, April 2: A batch of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Movement (JSQM) leaders and activists on Sunday started a 10-day hunger strike in protest against the alleged ‘kidnapping’ of their leader Dr Safdar Sarki and several other party colleagues.

Addressing the protesters outside the Karachi Press Club, JSQM Chairman Bashir Qureshi and Vice-Chairman Niaz Kalani apprehended that Dr Sarki might have been kidnapped by terrorists ‘backed by the ruling quarters’.

They vowed to continue the protest until the leader and activists were freed.

Besides Mr Qureshi and Mr Kalani, President of the Jeay Sindh Students Federation, Karachi University, Masood Kandhiro, Akbar Marri and Yasir Pathan observed the fast. —PPI
