Railways to buy new container wagons

LAHORE, Feb 10: The Pakistan Railways has decided to accommodate 600 new flat container wagons in an effort to make its freight sector in accordance with the modern era.

A spokesman for the Pakistan Railways here on Friday said that the Islamic Development Bank would provide funds for the purchase of new flat container wagons.

“However, those parties who boycotted the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) or having affiliation with Arab states or African Organization will not be eligible to submit tenders.”

The tenders for the purchase of flat container wagons will be followed as per IFGT-90 rules and according to A-3-90 contract conditions of the PRS, he added.

He said the tender documents would be available from the office of the director procurement, Pakistan Railways carriage factory Islamabad, at a cost of Rs5,000 or a bank draft of the same value.

The tenders could be submitted till March 27, and would be opened on the same day, he said, adding that more information in this regard can be obtained from the website: www.pakrail.com.—APP
