KARACHI, Dec 27; Six ships carrying containers to load rice are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity on the wharves picked up, thanks to steady arrivals. As a result, six ships, Ever Guide, Hanjin Busanto unload and load containers, Fu Niu Shan, to offload sulphur, Yohana, to unload and load general cargo, Mirinda Rose, to offload coal and Johar to unload crude oil. Four vessels, Ever Guide, Spar Capella, Sagaing, and Swat departed on Tuesday, while Hanjin Busan, Yohana, Chemroad Vega, Meng Hai and Johar are due to sail out on Wednesday.

A total tonnage of 87,583 tons comprising 7,582 tons of export cargo including 2,913 tons of rice and 80,001 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Cape Scott, Mol Asante, Thor Captain, Hyundai Sprinter and Kota Tampan, with containers and Sancris to load 3,500 tons of rice.
