KARACHI, Sept 3: A man strangled his three-year-old stepdaughter at his house in Quaidabad here on Saturday. According to police, Nabiha got divorce from her first husband Shershah and married Taj Wali, a security guard in a private textile mills. He was unhappy to bring up a child who is from the first husband of his wife.
He came from his duty late on Friday night when his wife Nabiha was busy in chores. He inflicted electric shocks to the minor Naila alias Asma Gul and then strangled her to death. Later he staged a drama that the child had drowned in the underground water tank, the police added.
During the final bath, it was noticed that some burn marks were visible on the body of the child. The matter was brought to the notice of the elders who took her to the JPMC.
After the autopsy, it was revealed that she did not drown but was strangled and inflicted electric shocks. The police arrested Taj Wali and registered a murder case against him.
