KARACHI: JI activist shot dead

KARACHI, July 3: A member of the Jamaat-i-Islami was shot dead in Gulshan-i-Hadeed on Sunday. Police said Tajammul Hussain, 50, was shot by unknown persons outside his house in Gulshan-i-Hadeed within the limits of Steel Town police station early Sunday morning.

Police said the assailants, who were on a motorcycle, managed to flee after the shooting.

The victim was being taken to the JPMC but he died on the way. Police are investigating the case.

SHOT DEAD: A young man was shot dead by unknown persons in New Karachi on Sunday.

Police said Muhammad Naveed, 25, was kidnapped by unknown persons near his house late Saturday night. His bullet-riddled body was recovered from Sector 5-A in New Karachi on Sunday morning.

Police shifted the body to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy.

ACCIDENT: A young man died and his associate was wounded in a road accident in Quaidabad on Sunday.

Police said Farhan and his friend Amir were on motorcycle when they were sandwich between a truck and minibus near the Quaidabad poultry farm.

Police said both the injured were rushed to the JPMC where Farhan was pronounced dead and Amir was being treated for his injuries.
