KARACHI: Safari Park to get six more tigers

KARACHI, April 26: The city government is going to add three more pairs of tigers in an enclosure stretched over four acres. The area is still under-construction at the Safari Park. The construction of the tigers’ enclosure would be completed in six months at a cost of Rs10 million.

The City Nazim, Niamatullah Khan, said this while laying the foundation stone of the enclosure at the Safari Park on Tuesday.

He directed the DO Zoo to continue efforts for the park’s improvement and take measures to induct more animals.

It is worth mentioning that some 600 different species of animals were living in a natural and open environment in the Safari Area of the Safari Park.

The nazim said that among the several pledges made by him, one was to make Karachi a bright and green city, which had been fulfilled.

He added that it would be made more bright and green besides providing it with recreational facilities. — PPI
