KARACHI, April 26: “Pani Per Becha Takht” — a poetry collection from Mohammad Izharul Haq was launched jointly by Bazmi Nashoor and Pakistan Arts Council on Monday. The poet based at Islamabad is also a writer and literary columnist. Among those who read papers on his poetry included Prof Saher Ansari, Mobin Mirza, and Sajjad Mir. Mahmood Shaam presided over the function.

In his paper, Prof Ansari highly admired the poet for his freshness in diction and images. Other speakers also analytically discussed the merits of his verses.

Earlier, Bazm-i-Nashoor President Mahmood Ahmad Khan welcomed the guests and Afazal Ahmad of the Bazm briefly mentioned the services of his literary body engaged in the promotion of poetry. The function was well attended.—HA
