KARACHI, April 24: The Federal Service Tribunal asked the National Refinery Limited and Petroleum Refining and Petro-chemical Corporation (Perac) on Saturday not to pass a final order in proceedings initiated against an employee till the next date of hearing of his appeal on May 13.

NRL audit officer Mohammad Farman was transferred to Perac. He challenged his transfer, alleging that the transfer order was punitive and he was being victimized for his co-operation with the NAB in its probe against NRL. He joined his new posting pending his plea against the transfer.

The FST, meanwhile, became non-functional following its chairman’s retirement. Disciplinary proceedings were initiated against him and he was issued charge sheet, which he challenged in the high court. The court restrained the respondents from passing a final order.

The employee’s appeal was taken up by the FST on Saturday. After hearing his counsel, the FST asked respondents not to take final decision in proceedings pending till May 13.
