KARACHI: Nine students wounded in clash

By Our Staff Reporter

Karachi, April 16: Nine students were injured in a clash at Government Jinnah Science College in North Nazimabad here on Saturday afternoon.

Police said that the clash took place between the students affiliated to the All Pakistan Mohajir Students Organization and Islami Jamiat Talaba. Both the groups accused each other of attacking their members.

However, the APMSO activists claimed that they were in college bus when some students equipped with clubs and iron-rods attacked them. They said that five students Shehzad, Imran, Faraz, Wahab and Sohail were injured in the clash.

The APMSO got an FIR 118/05 registered with North Nazimabad police station against Naeem, Saifullah, Sher Nawaz, and others for the attack. The FIR was registered under Sections 324/147/148/34 of the PPC, according to which the suspects were allegedly involved in attacking, creating law and order situation, and inflicting grievous injuries to other students.

Condemning the registration of the FIR against their members, the IJT alleged that the FIR was baseless and concocted. According to them, the APMSO activists attacked their members and injured them. The IJT claimed that four of its members Saifullah, Akhlaq, Hayat and Zafar were injured in the clash. The police were allegedly favouring the APMSO and denied registration of counter FIR, they added.
