24 ministers of state take oath today

By Our Staff Repoter

ISLAMABAD, Sept 3: President Gen Pervez Musharraf will administer oath of office to 24 ministers of state at a ceremony at the president's house on Saturday morning.

On Thursday, 32 federal ministers were inducted and their portfolios announced on Friday.

With the induction of ministers of state and advisers to the prime minister, the strength of the cabinet is expected to touch the figure of above 60, the largest ever in the country's history.

Four to five advisers to the prime minister are likely to be appointed with the status of federal minister or minister of state. Apart from the portfolio of finance which the prime minister has decided to keep with himself, another important ministry - food and agriculture - has also not been allotted to any of the 32 ministers.

Sources claimed that one or two more federal ministers might be inducted shortly to assign this ministry to one of them.
