KARACHI, April 8: Sindh Sports and Culture Minister Qamar Mansoor on Thursday appreciated the creative and artistic abilities of the Karachi University students while inaugurating the "poster competition and clippings on working women,"
at the Women Studies and Social Welfare Department, KU.
The minister said that he wanted to organize a grand sports event with the assistance of KU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Prizada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, adding the event would help discover the students' talent from all over the province.
Lauding the posters and clippings, he said, the students' approach, artistic abilities, meditative evolution and awareness regarding social problems was commendable.
He said the poster captions written by students were eye-openers and added that he was very happy over students' perception and approach on the issues of national concern.
The minister and KU VC gave away prizes to the winners of the competition, where a total of 42 posters were displayed. The first prize was given to a poster by Sadia Anjum from Microbiology Department, second was obtained by Rasheeda Niaz from Economics Department and the third prize went to the poster by Sohail Hussain from Women Studies department. -PPI
