Karachi Port operations

KARACHI, Dec 5: Five ships carrying soyabean oil, general cargo, chemicals and containers are expected to arrive on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where four ships, Dubai, Safe Marine Orange, Oriental Stride to unload and load containers and Muetam to offload general cargo were berthed after the departure of as many.

The ships, which departed included Safe Marine Orange, Hyundai Advance, Denis and Mercs Sajinda, while Dubai, Emblem, Sinar Bangka and Wehr Havel are due to sail out on Saturday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 65,701 tons comprising 10,206 tons of export cargo including 2,357 tons of rice and 55,495 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Pacific Express, with general cargo, Radam, with 8,500 tons of soyabean oil, Emerald Ievoli, with chemicals, PONL Nerson and Kota Teguh, with containers.

Port Qasim

KARACHI, Dec 5: Two ships with HSD oil and iron ore arrived at the outer anchorage during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Friday.

Four ships, Austria, E.R. Elbany, Lu Hai, and Spear-I were busy in loading/offloading containers, general cargo and edible oil.

A cargo volume of 37,260 tons comprising 27,394 tons of import cargo and 10,866 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was also active as two ships, Austria and Spear-I departed, while E.R. Elbany was due to leave the port.

Three ships, Safmarine Prime, Fu Le and Marry Ann were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage. Emblem with edible oil was due to arrive at the port.
