KARACHI, April 27: Sindh Chief Minister Sardar Ali Mohammad Mahar said on Sunday that a comprehensive strategy was being formulated to eliminate unemployment in the province.
Speaking at an open Kutchery at Chief Minister’s House, he said numerous schemes were being worked out with the collaboration of the private sectors to provide jobs and business opportunities to unemployed youths.
Sardar Mahar said the province was rich in natural resources and skilled and capable technical manpower. With the return of peace, the industrial base was expanding which would generate employment opportunities, he said.
He said the government was working on schemes to promote tourism and plans were afoot to develop cultural and tourist spots so that the visitors could get necessary facilities.
The chief minister said the ban would soon be lifted from employment in government departments. However, he advised the people not to bank on the government jobs and asked them to acquire technical skills, which were more in demand.
Mr Mahar called upon the youth to work hard, complete their education with dedication and prepare themselves to play their positive role in the society.
He asked people to furnish their complaints regarding corruption in writing so that action could be initiated against corrupt and inefficient officials. However, he made it clear that action would be taken against the applicants whose complaints were found baseless.
The chief minister received applications from many people from Karachi, Hyderabad, Larkana, Mirpurkhas, Thatta, Sanghar, Dadu, Ghotki, Sukkur, Shikarpur and other districts, listened to their grievances and issued instructions for mitigating the complaints.
