KARACHI: SDA to get more ministries: Imtiaz


KARACHI, April 16: President Sindh Democratic Alliance (SDA), Imtiaz Shaikh, on Wednesday said that more MPAs belonging to the SDA and parties comprising the National Alliance (NA) would be given portfolios of minister in accordance with its share in the Sindh coalition government.

“Although some ministers belonging to SDA and NA have not yet been given charge of ministries, but we have demanded the coalition government to include some more of our PMAs in the Sindh cabinet,” he said while speaking at a press briefing at the residence of Sindh Minister for Communication and Public Works, Arbab Ghulam Rahim.

Deputy Speaker Sindh Assembly, Ms Raheela Tiwana, Sindh Minister for Communication and Public Works, Arbab Ghulam Rahim, former speaker Sindh Assembly Syed Jalal Mehmood Shah and others were present.

On the occasion, PPP leader Mir Allah Bux Talpur joined the SDA. The SDA chief Imtiaz Shaikh said the Sindh cabinet had discussed the issue of lifting of ban imposed on jobs in the province, and soon the ban would be lifted to fill vacancies in various provincial departments including health and education.

“We are aware that people are concerned about this issue as announcements regarding the lifting of ban. Details are being finalised and soon the people would hear good news,” he said.

He said that the SDA was also striving to safeguard interests of Sindh and had stressed for distribution of water in accordance with the 1991 water distribution accord.—PPI
