KARACHI: PSP plans to hold symposium


KARACHI, Feb 3: Karachi and Larkana Chapters of Pakistan Society of Physicians will organize their 18th annual symposium from Feb 21-22 in the Liaquat National Hospital.

State Bank Governor Dr Ishrat Husain will be the chief guest, said a statement here on Monday.

The theme of the symposium will be ‘Health: A Fundamental Human Right’.

The state of art lecture will be delivered by Prof Abdus Samad on ‘Profile of Ischemic Heart disease in Asian population.’ ‘Medical Education’ will be the topic of Prof Camer Villani, who will be the guest of honour.

There will be three plenary session on ‘Sepsis Syndrome’, ‘Hepatitis in General Practitioner’s Setting’ and ‘Stroke Management’. There will be a panel discussion on Hormone Replacement therapy in Women and one session of free papers.

According to the Chairman Scientific Committee, Professor M.Zaman Shaikh, Four workshops have been organized for this occasion on the topic of ‘Diabetes, ‘Common Skin Problems’, and ‘Joint and Chest Diseases’.

A large number of doctors are expected to attend this symposium from all over Pakistan.—APP
