Karachi Port operations
KARACHI, Nov 22: Four ships carrying wheat, chemicals and containers were allotted berths at Multipurpose Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Qasim International Container Terminal during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Friday. Meanwhile, two more ships scheduled to load wheat arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy maintained on the higher side as eight ships, Maria, Adrekni, Msc Nova, ER Albany, Francisca Schulte Keiko, Yasa Aysen, Aldebran and Fanari were busy in loading/discharging wheat, containers, furnace oil, chemicals and coal respectively. Cargo handling activity remained brisk totalling 84,791 tons comprising 74,804 tons of import cargo and 9,987 tons of export tonnage, inclusive of cargo carried in 1,155 containers. Three ships, ER Albany, Stolt Victory and Msc Nova sailed out, while two more ships Keiko and Aldebran were expected to leave the port on Friday. Israa was due to take berth at Fotco Oil Terminal.
