HCM CITY, Oct 24: This year has seen American businesses invest an additional $50 million in 20 new projects, becoming one of the year’s six largest foreign investors in Vietnam, according to the ministry of planning and investment.

The largest project to receive investment from the US this year is Vietnam Semi Conductor company in Hanoi’s Sai Dong B industrial park, with a total capital of $30 million.

Overall, the US ranks 13th among foreign investors in Vietnam, having put a total of more than $1bn into 144 projects.

Sixty-two US-invested projects, worth $528 million, are currently operating in Vietnam, while 25 others, with a total value of $151 million, are under construction.—VNS/Asian News Network
