KARACHI, July 29: Six ships carrying containers and chemicals are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to the market sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where four ships, MSC Teresa, Iwato, Trade Maple to unload and load containers and Hus Shan to offload and load general cargo were berthed after the sailing of as many.

The ships, which departed included Emirate-11, Wan hai0305, Hyundai Bridge, and Paros, while Iwato and Liang Shan are due to sail out on Tuesday.

Berth occupancy at the oil was nil as tankers sailed into the port, while it was 41 per cent at the dry wharves.

Cargo handling activity at the port fell to a record low of only 12,109 tons as no oil tanker arrived. While dry cargo also showed a considerable decline.

The export tonnage fell to 2,325 tons, and that of import to 9,784 tons not a single ton of liquid cargo, both oils and chemicals.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Ivoli Shine, Bow Marino, with chemicals, Trade Enternity, APL Heddah, MOL Sincerity and Global Prosperity, with containers.
