QUETTA, July 18: Six members of a family were shot dead by unidentified gunmen in a village of Makran division, police said on Thursday.

The tragic incident took place late on Wednesday night in village ‘Mkskya Dak Gano’, some 50km north of Pasni township.

The unknown assailants arrived in the village at around 2am in two vehicles and barged into the houses of Mohammad Bukhsh and Lal Bukhsh. They opened indiscriminate fire with automatic weapons which resulted in the killing of six persons on the spot.

The victims, sons and father, were fast asleep when these gunmen struck. A woman also received bullet injuries who was admitted to a Pasni hospital.

The villagers rushed to the scene of tragedy and informed the police about it. The assailants made good their escape, the villagers said.

The cause of the brutal killing could not be known immediately.
