KARACHI, June 14: Nine ships including an oil tanker carrying 12,000 tons of soyabean oil are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side as all the new arrivals were allotted berths soon after the signals from the outer anchorage.

The ships, which were berthed included Clipper, Jamila, to unload and load containers, Khairpur to offload general cargo, Anan to unload fertilizer, and Gulf Grace to offload gas oil.

Sailings were also active as seven ships, Malakand, Dubai, Saf Marine Wami, Trade Eternity, Clipper, Iran Takiti and Mina departed, while Gulf Grace, Mercs Kirinda, Khairpur, Mar Challanger, Wan Hai-303 and Keiko are due to sail out on Saturday.

A total tonnage of 85,811 tons comprising 8,628 tons of export cargo and 77,183 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Emirate Star-11, Spring Creek, with soyabean oil, Stolt Sakra, with chemicals, Bubur Kaptan to load molasses, Pinta to offload oils, Sima Roja, Hyundai Bridge, Iwato, to unload and load containers and Bolan to offload general cargo.
