KARACHI, May 24: Six ships carrying containers, soyabean oil and to load ethanol are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.
Meanwhile, berthing activity at the oil piers was maintained on the higher side thanks to steady arrivals but remained slow at the dry wharves, falling to 17 per cent as only three ships were berthed.
The ships which were berthed included Kathrine Sif, to unload and load containers, Nur Yanbu to offload chemicals, and Korina to unload high speed diesel.
Sailing on the other hand was active as five ships, Hammurabi, Saf Marine Tana, Leixoes, NCC Hijaz and Bear-G sailed out, while Eso-1, Kathrine Sif, Korina and Nur Yanbu are due to depart on Saturday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was brisk where a total tonnage of 67,417 tons comprising 11,377 tons of export cargo and 56,040 tons of import tonnage was handled.
The following ships are due on Saturday: Keefan, with high speed diesel, Grozny, with 4,500 tons of soyabean oil, Sark Trader to load ethanol, Sima Riya, Hyundai Stride and Jamila, with containers.
The following are due on Sunday” Shirvan, with crude oil, Bunga Mas Satu, Nord Lake, and Honor River, with containers.

KARACHI, May 24: Four ships carrying containers, chemicals general cargo arrived at the outer anchorage during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Friday.
Five ships Anastasia, Mighty, New Toyokaze, Miyama-1 and Qem Star were at the wharves loading/offloading wheat, edible oil, iron ore and chemicals respectively.
A cargo volume of 23,977 tons comprising 17,109 tons of import tonnage and 6,868 tons of export cargo was handled.
