KARACHI: Education UK exhibition opens

KARACHI, April 3: British Deputy High Commissioner in Karachi, David Pearey, has expressed his country’s desire that more and more youngsters from Pakistan should come to Britain for acquisition of higher education.

He was speaking as chief guest at the inaugural session of the “Education UK Exhibition” at a local hotel on Wednesday. 21 British universities have set up their stalls on the occasion.

David Pearey said that Britain and Pakistan enjoyed very close and cordial relations and that in the recent months there had been high-level visits from both sides. He also spoke of the British government’s support for the development programmes in Pakistan.

Expressing his country’s desire to increase the investment and trade links with Pakistan, he said that the formation of the UK-Pakistan Advisory Group would also help foster such ties. —APP
