KARACHI, March 14: Leader of delegation of Institution of Civil Engineers from UK, Andrew Hollway has said that Pakistani engineers should be upgraded technically so that they could be acceptable to the international market.
In this connection, he said, certification as international engineers, prescribed by Engineers Mobility Forum (EMF), would be essentially required.
Andrew was talking to managing director, Sui Southern Gas Company Limited, Mukthar Ahmed, at SSGC head office. They discussed bilateral issues regarding the continued professional development programme for engineers.
M.P. Gangwani, president, Institution of Engineers Pakistan (IEP), said the objective of the mission was to enhance the technical know-how of Pakistani engineers to meet the quality requirement in global market for seeking jobs after the implementation of GATTS and WTO Regulations in 2005.
The UK delegation and IEP members also visited the FPCCI head office and sought the apex chamber cooperation on WTO issues.
