KARACHI, Feb 14: Two ships including a car carrier with 96 units are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.
Berth occupancy at the wharves and the Bulk Oil Piers was active at 54 and 67 per cent respectively as a dozen ships were berthed and sailed out during the last 24 hours.
The ships, which were berthed included MSC Clorinda, Leixoes, Trade Fast to unload and load containers, Faethon and Shirvan to offload general cargo and crude oil after the departure of seven.
The departing ships were led by Jamila, Global Progress, Lanka Mahapola,Wan Hai-235, Khalid, Johar and Apsheron, while Shirvan, Paethon, Leixoes, Palamos and MOL Sincerity are due to sail out on Friday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves fairly active thanks to larger handling of the liquid tonnage, rising to 0.126m tons comprising 22,884 tons of export cargo and 0.103m tons of import tonnage including 68,029 tons of oils.
The following ships are due on Friday: Hammurabi, with containers, Pacific Angel, with 96 vehicles.
