KARACHI, Feb 8: In spite of the unfortunate incident of Sept 11, Pakistan’s exports to France in the year 2001, remained stable at 353 million euros.

This was stated by ambassador of France to Pakistan, Yannick Gerard at the 10th annual general meeting of Pakistan-France Business Alliance (PFBA) held recently in Karachi.

The French envoy, who is also the chief patron of PFBA, presided over the meeting. French Consul General in Karachi Gilles Bonnaud shared the rostrum as the guest of honour.

Referring to bilateral trade between the two countries, Gerard said that French exports to Pakistan in the year 2001 had gone down by 19 per cent from 320 to 260 million euros.

He also lauded the President Musharraf’s bold stance against terrorism and his unflinching support to the international coalition. The ambassador said that President Musharraf’s courageous policies would lead Pakistan to economic prosperity and to a brighter future.
