KARACHI, Dec 3: Sindh governor Muhammedmian Soomro has called for making the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) effective and efficient.
He was presiding over a meeting here on Sunday at the governor’s house to review the working of the ACE.
The re-organisation of the department was also actively considered at the said meeting which was attended by Sindh health minister Major Gen (Rtd) Dr Ahsan Ahmed, Sindh chief secretary Javed Ashraf Hussain, chairman ACE Azhar Farooqui and other officers.
The governor, on the occasion, said good governance through improved efficiency for accomplishment of different task was the priority of the government. He also urged the reorganisation of ACE on modern lines and expeditious processing of cases entrusted to ACE.
The chief secretary also briefed the meeting about the working of the committee on anti- corruption.
Azhar Farooqui, newly appointed chairman of ACE, expressed his resolve to use the available manpower and resources for achieving best results regarding eradication of corruption at the provincial level.—APP
