PESHAWAR: Power meters’ installation in FATA begins

PESHAWAR, Nov 24: The Water and Power Development Authority has started installation of electric meters in FATA, says a news dispatch received here on Saturday.

The work at Sararogha, Tehsil of South Waziristan Agency, has been started, it added .

According to the programme, each transformer will have a meter and the payment of the power charges will be made collectively made by the local consumers.

Some tribal elders have expressed disagreement to the procedure, arguing that equal contribution would put burden on poor consumers.— APP
