Denmark writes off $18.4m debt

ISLAMABAD, Dec 17: The Kingdom of Denmark has written off the total outstanding debt amounting to $18.4 million.

An agreement to this effect was signed here on Tuesday by Dr Waqar Masood Khan, Secretary of Economic Affairs, on behalf of the Government of Pakistan and Sven B. Bjerregaard, Charge d’Affaires of the Royal Danish embassy, on behalf of the Government of Denmark.

Secretary Masood Khan thanked Mr Bjerregaard and the Government of Denmark for this gesture of goodwill. Similar sentiments were expressed by Mr Bjerregaard.
