MARDAN, Sept 29: A man was blown up while planting an explosive device at a CD shop in the Hoti locality here early Monday morning.

Police identified the man as Shahzeb, son of Chaman Khan, saying he was planting a locally-made bomb on the Toru road when it went off, killing him on the spot.

The body was handed over to relatives after legal formalities. Residents said it was the fifth blast in the Hoti area during the past four months, targeting CD shops, a girls’ school and a bridge, linking the Hoti area with the Mardan city. According to them, Shahzeb could have been involved in these terrorist acts. —Correspondent
