GUJAR KHAN, Jan 27: Fifteen suspects, most of them Afghan nationals, were arrested in Gujar Khan on Saturday night during an operation carried out in connection with the Dec 27 assassination of PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto in Rawalpindi.

According to sources, special teams of police investigating the murder of Ms Bhutto conducted a raid in a small locality on the outskirts of the town and rounded up the 15 suspects, most of them either Afghan refugees or natives of tribal areas.

Local police, however, expressed ignorance about the operation.

But, well-placed sources said that the arrested people were being interrogated in connection with the murder of Ms Bhutto.
