HYDERABAD, Oct 8: Sindh Taraqqi-pasand Party chairman Dr Qadir Magsi has condemned the promulgation of the National Reconciliation Ordinance and said that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement will be its main beneficiary as cases of murder, terrorism, kidnapping and robberies against its activists will be withdrawn under it.

Speaking at a STP meeting at party headquarters here on Monday, he said that the ordinance has given a license too kill to the criminals and it is tantamount to rubbing salts on the wounds of those families whose dear ones had been murdered.

He expressed the fear that there are difficult days ahead for Sindh and the Sindhi-speaking people. He said that Sindh will remain deprived of all its political, economic and cultural rights if conspiracies of the establishment are not nipped in the bud.

He called upon the Sindhi people to strengthen the STP, saying that it has been struggling to protect the rights of the Sindhi people.

Dr Magsi expressed the opinion that the establishment has prepared a strategy for the appointment of future governments at the centre and the four provinces and upcoming general elections will be just a formality.

APDM MEETING: The Hyderabad chapter of the All-Party Democratic Movement, at a meeting here on Sunday night, ridiculed re-election of General Pervez Musharraf as the president and pledged to continue struggle for restoration of true democracy in the country.

Speaking on the occasion, Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) leader Sultan Shaikh said that the presidential election was a farce and ultimately the democratic forces would emerge victorious. Jamat-i-Islami leader Moulana Abdul Waheed Qureshi said that the APDM was struggling for restoration of true democracy and enforcement of Islamic values in the country. He said that the APDM would overcome its weakness and launch a movement with a new vigour.
