KARACHI: A running event will be held simultaneously in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad on the Independence Day, with Pakistani runners living abroad also invited to participate virtually, organisers said on Tuesday.

The Lifebuoy Run for Pakistan 2026 will feature 7km, 14km and 21km races, with the on-ground events scheduled for DHA Phase 8 in Karachi, Bagh-e-Jinnah in Lahore and the Pakistan Sports Board Sports Complex in Islamabad.

Sports in Pakistan is organising the event in partnership with Falcon Triathlon Club in Lahore and Islamabad Runners Club in the capital. The organisers said the virtual component would allow Pakistani runners in other countries to take part from their respective locations.

The event will also feature a special medal commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
