SUKKUR: Senior PPP leader and MNA Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah on Wednesday inaugurated upgraded electrophysiology (EP) services at the Sindh Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (SICVD) Sukkur, alongside its Executive Director Prof Dr Jawaid Akbar Sial.
Speaking on the occasion, Shah highlighted that the modern electrophysiology unit fulfilled a critical regional need. Previously, patients had to travel to Karachi or Lahore for treatment, where private hospitals charged millions of rupees for similar procedures. He noted that while the procedure typically costs between Rs200,000 and Rs225,000, the advanced treatment would now be provided at the SICVD completely free of charge. Patients from northern Sindh, Punjab and Balochistan stand to benefit from the facility.
Addressing the media following the inauguration, the MNA responded to recent political developments, describing a federal minister’s statement regarding system failure as a matter of serious concern.
