KARACHI: Qaumi Awami Tehreek (QAT) chief Ayaz Latif Palijo on Monday appeared before the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in compliance with a notice issued to him on August 7 as part of an inquiry into his alleged anti-state activities.
Accompanied by a large number of workers, Mr Palijo reached the NCCIA office in Gulistan-i-Jauhar, where he appeared before an inquiry officer in the presence of his lawyers.
Later, addressing his supporters, he said the NCCIA officials let him go, saying that they would send a questionnaire to his home address for him to answer.
He called for developing consensus on the local government system and urged the Sindh government to get a resolution passed by the provincial legislature against new provinces.
He remarked, “Sindh is one and will remain one, because Sindh is the maker of Pakistan”.
He said, “We love Punjabis, we love Pashtuns, Urdu speakers are our brothers, peaceful people are part of us. All of Pakistan is ours”.
“Whoever stands with Sindh, including Bilawal, Jamaat-i-Islami, Functional League, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam, they are part of us”, he added.
Mr Palijo demanded that all arrested political and nationalist workers should be released.
The QAT chief also criticised the Sindh government and said, “There is no merit in Sindh. Young people with degrees are wandering. Restore merit. Give people justice. In Karachi, people are wandering for water”.
He also criticised certain sections of the media, which were allegedly spreading hatred over the creation of new provinces.
