SBP reserves up

KARACHI: Foreign exchange reserves of the country increased to $22.474 billion at the end of the week on July 31, reported the State Bank of Pakistan on Thursday.

The SBP’s forex holdings rose by $13 million to $17.043bn. The primary source of inflows is the interbank currency market, where the SBP regularly buys dollars to improve its reserves. The banks’ holdings stood at $5.431bn during the week.
