RAWALPINDI/JHELUM: A boy was swept away in a nullah in Friends Colony, Misrial Road, during monsoon rain while two boys drowned in a pond in Dhoke Burz area of Pind Dadan Khan on Friday.
In the first incident, an eight-year-old boy identified as Abu Bakar was playing in the street when he slipped into the nullah and was swept away, emergency services Rescue 1122 said. Shortly after the incident came to light, Rescue 1122 teams reached the spot and started efforts to recover the missing boy. After sunset, the search operation was abandoned. The spokesman said the search operation for the missing boy would commence on Saturday.
In another incident, two boys drowned in a pond in Dhoke Burz area of Pind Dadan Khan on Friday. According to Rescue 1122, the boys were bathing in the pond when the incident occurred.
On getting information, Rescue 1122 ambulance reached the spot and shifted the bodies to the hospital. The victims were identified as nine-year-old Mohsin and Akhlaq, 17.
