LAHORE: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) and a private university on Saturday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote academic and research collaboration in the field of cyber security.

“The strategic partnership is aimed to strengthen cyber security education, innovation, and digital defence in Pakistan,” NCCIA Punjab Director Muhammad Ali Waseem said.

Under the agreement, both institutions will jointly work on research and development (R&D) projects in cyber security and strive to secure national and international research grants.

Furthermore, the NCCIA will organise knowledge-sharing workshops and seminars for the University of Management and Technology (UMT) faculty members and students. Under the Tech 2.0 Initiative, the agency will also provide guidance and mentorship for final-year projects related to blockchain, cloud computing, and malware analysis.

Representatives from NCCIA will become part of the varsity’s advisory board to help modernise and strengthen the university’s curriculum in line with emerging technological trends and cyber security requirements.
