‘Marka-i-Haq’ gatherings celebrate nation’s triumph against Indian aggression

KARACHI: Multiple ceremonies, rallies, conferences and public gatherings were organised across the city on Saturday to celebrate the first anniversary of “Marka-i-Haq” [Battle of Truth], commemorating the nation’s triumph against Indian aggression in May, 2025.

The events were organised by political parties, civil society organisations, human rights bodies and youth groups.

The participants paid tribute to the armed forces, martyrs, and war veterans, while reaffirming their unwavering commitment to the defence and sovereignty of the country, declaring that no sacrifice would be too great for Pakistan.

They said under the visionary leadership of Field Marshal General Asim Munir, the Pakistan Army, Air Force, and Navy have set an example of bravery and today our defence is stronger, steadfast and unshakeable than ever before.

Thousands attend PPP event at Seaview

A major event was organised by the Karachi chapter of the Pakistan Peoples Party near the Seaview, where thousands of party workers, supporters and citizens gathered to celebrate.

The grand public gathering was also attended by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, members of the provincial cabinet, senior party leaders and elected representatives.

Addressing the participants, the leaders reiterated the nation’s resolve to defend Pakistan’s sovereignty and declared that the people of Pakistan would never hesitate to render any sacrifice for the country’s security and dignity.

The event also featured a musical show, patriotic performances and a fireworks display, creating a festive atmosphere along the Karachi coastline.

The participants waved national and party flags, chanted slogans in support of Pakistan and its armed forces and expressed unity against external aggression.

Muttahida holds celebration outside KPC

A similar ceremony was organised by Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) outside the Karachi Press Club, drawing a large number of party workers, supporters, and citizens from different parts of the city.

The event featured patriotic songs, enthusiastic slogan chanting and a fireworks display that added to the celebratory atmosphere.

The participants carrying national flags expressed solidarity with the armed forces and renewed their commitment to safeguarding the nation against any external threat.

Event at Governor House

A ceremony in this regard was also held at the Sindh Governor House.

Addressing the audience, Sindh governor Syed Nihal Hashmi paid tribute to the martyrs, war veterans, and the families who sacrificed for the country.

The governor said that Pakistan’s armed forces had thwarted the enemy’s hostile ambitions and demonstrated the country’s “invincible defence capability.” He warned that any aggression against Pakistan would receive an even stronger, more decisive, and comprehensive response in the future.

The ceremony was also attended by CM Murad Ali Shah, Karachi corps commander, director general Rangers Sindh, commander Karachi Pakistan Navy, commander coastal areas Pakistan Navy, president Air War College, inspector general Sindh Police, Karachi commissioner, senior civil and military officials, members of the business community, and distinguished citizens. Consuls General from Oman, China, Qatar, Iraq, Russia, Vietnam, Kuwait and several other countries also attended the event.

Karachi Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi held a flag-hoisting ceremony at his office in connection with the Marka-i-Haq and victory celebration events.

Speaking to the media on the occasion, the commissioner said that this historic success had made the Pakistani nation proud and enhanced Pakistan’s prestige internationally. Through Marka-i-Haq, Pakistan not only gave a befitting response to enemy attacks but also achieved success at diplomatic and defence levels, he said.

Pakistan Markazi Muslim League also organised a conference on Shahra-i-Quaideen where a large number of party workers and supporters gathered to express solidarity with Pakistan’s armed forces.

Addressing the conference, party leaders praised the bravery and professionalism of the armed forces and reiterated the nation’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The speakers said that the people of Pakistan stood united alongside their military and were prepared to make every sacrifice for the defence, security and honour of the country.

Also, Peoples Students Federation spokesperson Shehryar Bhagat said in a statement that one year had been completed since Marka-i-Haq, and the day revived memories of the courage, sacrifices and historic success of the Pakistani nation and armed forces.
