SARGODHA: Seven men were arrested and 35 were booked for storming the PAF Wegowal Airfield on Khushab Road.
After a land dispute, the suspects, including three brothers, residents of Chak 123, appeared on a tractor and three cars. They broke the security fence, threatened the security personnel and damaged the official vehicle.
The Jhal Chakian police, on the complaint of security official Muhammad Asim, arrested eight suspects, including three brothers, Iqbal, Mushtaq and Irshad, and Abdul Sadat. A case has been registered against 35 people, including Iqbal, Zainul Abidin and Osama, a resident of Shirazi Park under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
ACCIDENTS: Two persons were killed and eight were injured in different accidents.
According to sources, a car was crossing the railway gate at Bhalwal Katcha crossing on the Sargodha Lalamusa railway line when the Millat Express hit it. As a result, 32-year-old Dr Asad Awan of Mukhtar Colony Bhalwal, died and 30-year-old Dr Aqeel Sarfaraz of Sargodha Satellite Town, was seriously injured.
Similarly, a car rider, 24-year-old Abdullah Abrar Kharal of Chak 71 NB, was killed and three people, namely 23-year-old Ahmed, 18-year-old Abdul Moeez and 17-year-old Abdul Hadi, were seriously injured when a speeding dumper truck hit their car near a private teaching hospital on the Lahore Road.
In the third incident, a dumper hit a van coming from Gujrat to Sargodha, injuring four women, Samina Bibi, 40, Kausar, 40, Nazia Imran, 25, and Gulzar Bibi, 50, of Dinga.
Their bodies were shifted to the DHQ Teaching Hospital.
