KARACHI: A man was killed and another injured on Thursday evening when a minibus collided with a motorcycle in the Korangi area, police and rescue services officials said.

The incident angered the area residents who set the bus on fire.

Korangi Industrial Area SHO Mohammed Ali Niazi told Dawn that two men were riding a motorcycle near Vita Chowrangi when the minibus hit them. They sustained injuries and were transported to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where doctors pronounced Manzoor Raheem, 40, dead.

The officer said the bus driver managed to escape from the spot, leaving behind the vehicle that was torched by an angry mob.

A traffic police officer said that the cause of the accident was the bus driver’s reckless and negligent driving.
