Former Jamaat-i-Islami senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, who is leading Pakistan’s delegation on the Global Sumud Flotilla for Gaza, has made remarks before departing for Tunisia.

In a video on X, he appeals to the Pakistani government to “expedite visas for the members of his delegation”, to the ulema to raise the issue of Gaza in their sermons and to the Tunisian government to allow the delegation members entry.

“I urge the citizens of Tunis to stage massive protests in their city on September 4, to increase pressure on the government to help the people of Gaza,” the former senator said.

“We will be part of the biggest flotilla in history,” he said. “We will be unarmed and carrying water and other supplies.”
