Sindh irrigation authorities and Provincial Disaster Management Authority informed Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah that 700,000 to 800,000 cusecs of water were expected to reach Guddu Barrage between Sept 3-4.
The chief minister presided over a high-level flood emergency meeting to review preparedness measures in anticipation of high flows expected to enter the province next week. He directed the administration to remain on high alert and ensure full rescue and relief arrangements to meet any emergency.
CM Murad also ordered the deployment of over 30,000 Rescue 1122 personnel in the northern districts and allocation of boats across vulnerable areas, including Sukkur, Ghotki, Khairpur, Shikarpur, Nasuhehroferoze, Dadu and Shaheed Benazirabad.
