Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected a report from a global hunger monitor that said Gaza City and surrounding areas were officially suffering from famine, saying it ignored recent humanitarian steps by Israel, Reuters reports.

“Since the beginning of the war, Israel has enabled 2 million tonnes of aid to enter the Gaza Strip, over one ton of aid per person,” Netanyahu said in a statement.
