Twenty-two months into the war in Gaza, most children are unable to access education of any kind, and most of their schools have been damaged or destroyed.
The longer children stay out of school, “the greater the risk of a lost generation”, warns the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA).
“Every day away from the classroom takes away the future they deserve,” says UNRWA. “A ceasefire is the first step to getting them back to school.”
