The Palestinian Foreign Ministry has welcomed a joint statement signed by the UK, Germany, Italy, Australia and New Zealand rejecting Israel’s plan to seize Gaza City, Al Jazeera reports.
In a statement, the ministry emphasised the importance of enabling the Palestinian Authority to exercise its authority over Gaza.
It also called on all countries to pressure Israel to halt its plan, to put an end to the humanitarian catastrophe affecting civilians in Gaza and, for all those that have not done so yet, to recognise the State of Palestine.
