Israeli authorities have decided to ban the grand mufti of Jerusalem and the occupied Palestinian territories, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, from Al-Aqsa Mosque for six months, sources on the ground told Al Jazeera.
The decision comes days after far-right Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound and prayed at the site, in violation of a 1967 status quo agreement.
