‘We are starved’: Gaza resident describes deepening humanitarian crisis

Mahmoud Younes, a resident of Gaza, says the Palestinians in the enclave are “living in hell — unbearable hell”, Al Jazeera reports.

“We are starved. There is no food, no drinks, no water,” he said. “Even the water we get is polluted. They say it is clean, but it is polluted. We’ve lost half our weight. There’s no safety. There’s no place safe to stay.”

His comments come as the humanitarian crisis in Gaza deepens. Today. Israel allowed 95 aid trucks into the Strip — far below the 600 trucks per day needed to meet minimum survival needs, according to UNRWA. The daily average now stands at 85 trucks.
